Description: Our Spanish language school is located in the friendly, peaceful town of San Joaquin de Flores, Costa Rica. We offer Spanish courses for students of all levels, all year. Study Spanish with other international students in our ideally located school, situated in the beautiful central valley of Costa Rica, just 30 minutes by car from its capital, San José.

We offer total immersion Intensive and Super-Intensive Spanish language courses, with fully qualified and experienced native Costa Rican tutors, in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Students are divided into small groups with a maximum of 4 people per class. We also organize volunteer work for interested students. An extensive optional cultural program is also available, with a wide range of visits, excursions and activities. These include volcano visits, rain forest treks, white-water rafting and much more. We provide weekly Salsa/Merengue classes and Costa Rican cookery classes.

The school has 15 well-equipped classrooms, a multi-media room, Internet cafe, student cafeteria and extensive gardens. Accommodation is in carefully selected host families, as well as in self-catering studio apartments and hotels. Airport collection is available, if required.

Highlights: San Joaquín de Flores is a prosperous, friendly, middle-class town of around 5,000 people, 17km from San José. The town offers a glimpse of the 'real' Costa Rica and a peaceful setting, within reach of the hustle and bustle of San José. Here students can easily meet "Ticos" (Costa Ricans). This naturally makes learning Spanish easier and more enjoyable.

Our school in San Joaquín has magnificent views over coffee and banana plantations, towards the Barva volcano. There are 17 classrooms, a student cafeteria, as well as a student room with e-mail access.

After lessons, take a leisurely stroll around the beautiful colonial streets of San Joaquín, relax in the sun on the school's terrace, or join other students and teachers on our activities program. Dance the salsa, enjoy film evenings or, if you're feeling adventurous, hike up to Barva volcano.This is an excellent base from which to explore the mountain rain forests to the west, as well as the beaches of Guanacaste. Students should consider combining San Joaquín with a stay in Flamingo Beach and/or Monteverde.
