Description:
The Algonquin Language Institute offers an intensive ESL program designed to meet the specific needs of international learners. Using the latest language training techniques, the Institute offers an 8 level program ranging from beginner to advanced levels including College and University preparation. Students learn to communicate in everyday situations and continuously practice their reading, writing, listening and speaking, grammar, a punctuation and pronunciation skills. Offered on a full-time basis, Monday through Friday, the program is 25 hours a week with 20 hours of classroom learning and 5 hours in both the Multimedia Language Center and the Living Language Center. As a center for training teachers of English as a Second language, Algonqquin is recognised for the excellence of its language program and its use of the most modern and effective language learning techniques. A student residence is located on Campus and home-stay close by is also available.

The ESL program prepares international students for our programs and for those of the other Colleges and Universities in Canada.
