Action in English TEFL Certificate Program at EC Boston (formerly known as the Olin Center) is intended for those who want to teach English as a Second Language, but have no previous classroom teaching experience. Our TEFL Certificate Program enables you, in a short period of time, to teach with confidence in your ability to manage a classroom, and to further your own education in the future. In our TEFL Certificate Program, you will learn how people learn languages along with concrete techniques to enable you to teach them. You will plan courses and lessons, and practice teaching on actual ESL students, receiving feedback on the teaching. In addition, those who successfully complete the Action in English Teacher Training Program will receive a TEFL Certificate. These two qualifications --- self-confidence and a Certification in TEFL (also know as TESOL) --- are key to finding a job either in the United States or overseas.

We provide prospective teachers: Practical techniques for developing a good classroom atmosphere and teaching the four basic skills. We include not only knowledge of good ice-breaking activities, but also many different activities that can be used in the classroom to facilitate learning. Extensive experience in classroom observation. Second to teaching, observing excellent teachers is the best way for anyone to learn to teach. All Action in English students observe select ESL classes at EC Boston and other affiliated schools. Practice preparing lessons Trainers teach Action in English students to prepare and revise lessons according to the identified needs of the class. Teaching experience. Participants in the Action in English Certificate Program begin peer teaching in the second day of class . By the completion of the course, you will teach actual ESL students, using lesson plans you have created. Information about how to find or develop the resources you need in your future teaching career. Training in preparing your resume and finding a good job.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree recommended, international students need 550 (213 CBT)TOEFL.
