Kingsbrook Spanish School
As a Spanish school for foreigners, our goal is for you to learn in a pleasant, fun and efficient way; in an ideal environment such as Barcelona. We also want you to have a really great and positive personal experience. To achieve this aim, we have a team of qualified and experienced native teachers. Our methodology is dynamic, communicative and participative and this is our way to teach you. Not just the rules of grammar, but a language to use and communicate in. We consider not just grammar and written work to be important, but also conversation which will enable you to use Spanish quickly in order to communicate with people. Our material is quite actual and remember our teachers will teach you Spanish in Spanish. We work with small groups so the average size is seven and the maximum ten. In this way, the teacher can dedicate more time to students and thereby help their learning. In Kingsbrook we receive students from all over the world, so the mixture of nationalities and cultures guarantee an international atmosphere, making cultural exchange easy between our students. We are recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Education and the Instituto Cervantes, the German Bildingsurlaub, the Swedish CSN and we are members of FIYTO, ALTO and IAPA International Associations.

The school
Totally refurnished with a modern and attractive design makes Kingsbrook a perfect place to study Spanish. There is a new area with 5 more Classrooms, a Library and a Leisure/Relax Room. We have Study room where you can work comfortably and in which twice a week one of our teachers will give you free lessons and help you with your questions. Internet room with free access all day and a Coffee room where you can talk with the other students, listen to music or read a magazine or cultural guides of Barcelona. We also offer a Library service for free and Kingsbrook card, which gives you discounts not only in museums, cinemas, theatres and public transport but also in libraries, some shops (music, clothes, food), haidressers, gyms or restaurants.

Courses
We have from semi-intensives for those who have limited time to really intensive Spanish courses for those who want to advance very quickly in a short period of time. We have classes in the morning, afternoon or evening and Special courses with Literature, History, Art, Gastronomy and Flamenco concepts are available. We also offer Business Spanish and Internships in Barcelona or Madrid in different areas like Business, Administration, Marketing, Psychology, Language Teaching, Hospitality Industry and many more.

Leisure and cultural activities
All year round we try to give you not only an academic experience but the opportunity to know our country and its customs by organising different activities. Borne quarter with its art galleries and bohemian life, Gothic districts and its tascas, Dala Museum in Figueres, Costa Brava beaches, football matches, movie passes, flamenco shows, night cocktails... We believe this is part of the course as on these trips you will always be accompanied by our teachers, who will help you to practice Spanish. You can also get to know other students who are not in your class.

Kingsbrook Accommodation Options
If you are going to be in Barcelona for a while, we can offer you different kinds of accommodation near to the school, either within walking distance or nearby on public transport. We regularly review the accommodation to remain assured that you are well placed.

Home-stay
We recommend this option as it is the most comfortable and definitely the best way to practice Spanish outside the school as well as integrate yourself into Spanish customs. Bedrooms are single or double, with a right to use the kitchen.

Shared apartments
These are single or double rooms in shared apartments with other students or young people from Barcelona.

Student Residence
We can offer different ones close to the school. If you are interested in this option, please ask us for more information.

Private Studios
If you want to live alone we can offer small apartments with one or two bedrooms.

Live in Barcelona
Our city is one of the most beautiful and fashionable cities in Europe. With a population of 3 million people and located in the Mediterranean sea, it is the cultural and economic centre of Catalonia in Northern Spain. Taking a walk in Barcelona is unbeatable! There is gothic and medieval architecture in the labyrinthic Old town, Gaudi's modernist buildings such as La Pedrera or La Casa Batllo in the Eixample quarter, Las Ramblas with its human statues, the Sagrada Familia, the Olympic village by the sea and the beaches just 20 minutes from the school and Barceloneta area with its terraces to try the typical Spanish tapas. All year round this vibrant city organises festivals like Sonar (most important electronic music festival in Europe), Grec (music, theatre and dance festival outdoor in summer), World Music Festival and international events. You will enjoy sunny and mild weather all year which makes Barcelona a perfect place to study Spanish anytime. It doesn't matter day or night, there is an exciting atmosphere. Location
We are located in the Eixample quarter, a great area in Barcelona close to Diagonal and Paseo de Gracia and just walking you can reach famous Pedrera by Gauda. Sagrada Familia, Plaza Catalunya, Las Ramblas and the old town are just two stops by underground. We also are close to Gracia quarter fully of young people, artists, art galleries, clubs, fashion shops, terraces' really the most exciting area in Barcelona along with Borne quarter.

Au Pair Program
There are thousands of girls all over the world learning another language, a new culture and making friends with people from different countries. The au-pair programme enables you to access all this without having to pay for accommodation or food and receiving financial help from the family. In return, you would care for the children and help in the home. We can find you families all around Spain. So If you are over eighteen years old, have a basic knowledge of Spanish are adaptable and happy to share accommodation, you like children and are motivated to take part in the programme, then that is enough for us to look for a family for you.

In January 2005 we opened a new area with 6 more Classrooms, Library, larger Lounge Area, new Internet room and one additional terrace. Our methodology is dynamic, communicative and participative. We work with small groups (av.8, max. 10) and we have from Semi-intensive Courses to Intensive Courses as well as Special Courses with Literature, History, Art, Gastronomy or Flamenco concepts. We also offer Business Spanish and Internships in Barcelona or Madrid. Our cultural/leisure activities program as going to Skiing, Barcelona tours, Theater/Flamenco shows, International Dinners, Beaches, Football matches, Cooking Seminars or excursions out of the city allow students to practise Spanish as well as learn our culture and the exciting city of Barcelona and its surrounds.
