Here are some things to do while in the home of your teacher: After taking in a performance in the world-renowned 'theater district' where you can see dozens of wonderful plays performed by Off Broadway and Broadway actors, you can walk to nearby 'restaurant row' and whet your appetite at any one of the dozens of fine restaurants. Visit a museum, stroll Central Park, take a dinner cruise on the Hudson River or take a tour of the Empire State Building. In New York City, you will never run out of places of interest or activities!   

If you desire a trip outside of the City, travel by car, bus, or train, to the 'Jersey Shore' where you will indulge in boardwalks, fine beaches, and fantastic seafood restaurants.

American Language Programs, Inc.'s Mission Statement: American Language Programs is a private homestay language immersion program wherein students stay in the homes of their American teachers. There, they receive individualized teaching according to their level of ability in English. The emphasis of our program is that students have the opportunity to 'practice what is preached! In other words, their entire stay is practice in using English. Their teacher and homestay host is a very qualified teacher usually with many years of training/experience and one or more academic degrees from well-known American colleges or universities. Students become immersed in the daily lives of their "new" family and practice English their entire stay. Lessons are private (one-on-one) and scheduled at the discretion of teacher/student. Meals and trips are with the teacher and his/her family. This method of perfecting a second language has proven to be very successful and numerous studies support this.
