Highlights:
Our 4-bedroom property is located in Twickenham, the wealthiest London borough, approximately 2.5 miles from Richmond town centre and a rail link away from the centre of London. Twickenham, like Richmond, is very old and is nestled snugly around the River Thames. It has an abundance of Royal history, theatre tradition and, of course, sport! Both Richmond and Twickenham are very green areas with many parks and river walks. In fact, if you like celebrity-spotting, many of the rich and famous choose to live in Richmond! Both Richmond and Twickenham have excellent facilities for shopping and eating out and many people do frequently often partaking in the Twickenham open-air restaurant scheme in the summer months. Our home is a typical suburban property, beautifully furnished with comfortable furnishings, paintings, wooden floors, open fires and all 'mod cons'. We are within metres of a bus stop and a 5 minute ride into Twickenham and a 12-15 minute ride into Richmond. Both locations are ideally linked via fast trains into London Waterloo (approx. 17-20 mins) which is within walking distance of Big Ben, Houses of Parliament. Our local shops include a newsagents, butchers and 2 supermarkets. There is a very popular traditional 'pub' nearby and many more in Twickenham and Richmond. Close by is an amazing gym/spa facility. We are within a beautiful nature reserve (rare for London) and enjoy walks along the river, observing the exotic parrots and kingfishers. If you enjoy rugby Twickenham is its home! If you enjoy The River Thames, Twickenham is ideally positioned for picturesque walks into Richmond and for taking scenic river trips. Beautiful Windsor and Windsor Castle are only 15 minutes by car. Twickenham boasts an abundance of old English pubs and all types of restaurants - Greek, Indian, Japanese, Italian, Chinese, etc. The shopping centre in Richmond is fantastic as are the shopping facilities in Kingston both a few miles from our home. As a family we enjoy eating out and going to the cinema. Equally, we enjoy entertaining at home and cooking anything from Thai dishes to Greek and Italian! Not forgetting traditional English of course! We enjoy taking students on excursions and immmersing them in our lives for the duration of their stay. The student room consists of one single bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe space - bathroom shared. We are used to providing 3 good meals a day and allowing access to a PC for emails, etc. Excursions and Local Attractions Windsor castle, Richmond and Twickenham, Central London and all museums, etc. Pub lunches and restaurants and visits to Lyme Regis, Dorset where possible (overnight stay in additional family home) but only if student is happy to. Ultimately, we are on hand to be your guides around all the following attractions: Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Tower Bridge, London Dungeons, Tower of London, Tate Modern, National Gallery, The British Museum, The V&A, The Natural History Museum and many, many more! Welcome to London!
