Description:
San Joaquyn de Flores located a few miles from Heredia (a university town) and about 12 miles from the capital, San Josy, is perfect for those who want to avoid the daily traffic, pollution and stress of the city, but who will still want the easy access to the shopping and night life. There is excellent bus service to both Heredia and San Josy. Overall, this typical 'Tico' town offers the language traveler a great opportunity to experience the local culture. San Joaquyn Program (included in tuition)
- 4 hours daily instruction (20 hrs/weekly)

Highlights:
Known as the Switzerland of Central America, Costa Rica has an abundance of natural beauty and is populated by a friendly, well-educated people. Costa Rica has obtained the highest standard of living in Central America by embracing democracy and disbanding its army. This small country is a paradise for nature lovers with many national parks, jungles, volcanoes, beaches and more rivers and water per square mile than any other country in the world, excluding New Zealand. However, the small pre-Colombian Indigenous population was wiped out by diseases brought to the new world by the conquistadors.
