Description: A unique way to learn a language, studying and living in the home of your own personal teacher!

By living and studying in your own personal teacher's home, you live in the language and you can't avoid learning. As soon as the student wakes each morning, the lesson begins, from chatting over breakfast to the end of the day, just relaxing and watching TV, the language spoken is the language you are studying.

Aside from the structured tuition, all conversations, social activities are in the local language and your teacher will guide you and correct mistakes throughout the day. This is a full language immersion approach, which makes this method very effective and gives the student a true insight into the language and lifestyle.

This program has been running since 1979 and we now have over 2000 private teachers worldwide.

All our teachers throughout the world have a recognized teaching certificate or a University degree or equivalent accepted by the private sector. Their teaching qualifications are verified, and their homes inspected to maintain the highest standards.

We also have resident regional organizers who monitor each teacher and the progress of each individual student, they are on call to solve the slightest personal problem that students may encounter.

Our teachers fall into three categories:

1) Working teachers who have a full time job with a state or private school and work for us during their summer vacation.

2) Retired teachers who are pleased to host mature students several times throughout the year, this enables them to meet interesting people from other countries and also to supplement their income without leaving their homes.

3) Female teachers with children of their own, who often give up their full time teaching post to look after their own children. These ladies are delighted to have the opportunity to supplement their income by entertaining an extra child whom they can teach without leaving their own home.

If for any reason the student wishes to change the teaching family, no reasons need be given, it is sufficient to say 'I do not feel comfortable' or ' I do not feel happy' and the student will be swiftly changed.

This causes no embarrassment on either side, as all teachers know that sometimes there can be a clash of personalities, through no fault of either student or teacher. Over the years and experience gained, we have become experts in selecting the right family for each student so it is very rare that any changes need to be made.

We will match the student's needs exactly to the appropriate teacher - if, for example, you have a requirement for a foreign language with a bias towards the jargon of a particular profession.

Given sufficient notice, we can also place the student with a teacher who has similar leisure interests. We actually consider the choice of family to be more important than a specific town or region and we will suggest another area, if there is no compatible family in the region that the student has requested.

Highlights: Standard program: We offer a choice of 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours of personal teaching per week.

Business and Executive program: We offer a choice of 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours of personal teaching per week. Designed for executives who need to improve their professional language skills and who require specialized vocabulary with technical terms, in areas such as medicine, engineering, law, computing, architecture, tourism etc. Host family provides a private bathroom.
