Learn Spanish in Costa Rica with Projects Abroad
Costa Rica
Dates: Year Round / Rolling-Starts
Description:
Immerse yourself in Spanish and fascinating Latin American culture on a month long Spanish language projects in Costa Rica. You will have 15 hours of tutoring a week with a qualified teacher on a one-to-one basis or will be paired with another volunteer who speaks the same level of Spanish. You'll learn quickly - especially because you will also have plenty of opportunities to practice your new skills while staying with your Spanish-speaking host family! The intensive classes are tailored to suit your ability. Whether you are a complete beginner or have been learning Spanish for several years, being surrounded by the language every day will help your skills progress in leaps and bounds. After your lessons, there is plenty of free time for you to explore the local area - after you've done your homework, of course! Alternatively you can undertake a short, 14-hour course in Spanish. These courses are tailored to your needs and run alongside your main volunteer project. If you are planning on volunteering abroad for three months or more, you could also complete a 60-hour course alongside your volunteer experience.
Highlights:
Costa Rica, a traveler's paradise, is a fantastic choice for your volunteer or internship project. In the heart of Latin America, it is a country of contrasts and a varied mix of landscapes and cultures. Its wide range of attractions includes volcanoes, tropical rainforests, magnificent waterfalls and beautiful sandy beaches. Known as an environmental wonderland, Costa Rica is renowned for its biodiversity and many national parks, and boasts an array of wildlife from crocodiles and monkeys to whales and dolphins. All accommodation is organized, paid for and monitored by Projects Abroad. All project placements are regularly visited and checked. We require high standards of supervision and accommodation, which are verified before you arrive in Costa Rica. This project offers the opportunity to become fully immersed in the culture in a manner which even the most hardened of backpackers could never hope to do.

Projects Abroad's Mission Statement: As part of the global economy, Projects Abroad helps create local employment wherever we send volunteers. Employing local staff overseas and using their talents and knowledge is important to us. This local knowledge and support enables the organization to channel the skills of the volunteers from more affluent countries to regions around the world where they are needed. Volunteers also learn from their placements and the people they meet, and they gain experience in a chosen field. In the 21st century, we believe this mutual respect is what cultural exchange is all about.
