Students will study Chinese language & culture through a uniquely crafted itinerary of classes, daily excursions in and around Beijing, as well as travel to other cities in China. What you will do this summer: Week 1 Day 1 Airport pick-up / Arrival ceremony at No.65 School: Students receive cell phones, orientation packet, and IC card/ homestay students meet host families/ Dinner of Beijing duck/ Return home Day 2 Chinese class / Beijing Ancient Observatory Day 3 Chinese class / Visit Hutongs at Hou Hai Lake Day 4 Chinese class / Free afternoon Day 5 Chinese class / Forbidden City trip Day 6 Chinese class / 1st International Ping Pong Competition between American, Russian, German and Chinese students / Evening: Chinese Kung Fu show Day 7 Ba Da Chu Temple trip for hiking and Buddhist culture study Day 8 Jing Shan Park for morning exercise / Bei Hai Park in the afternoon Week 2 Day 9 Chinese class / Shopping at silk market with host family students together. Day 10 Chinese class / Picnic at The Summer Palace Day 11 Chinese class / Semifinals 2nd International Ping Pong Competition / Unique hot pot style dinner Day 12 Chinese class / Chinese Class Calligraphy Class / Liu Li Chang ancient area Day 13 Chinese class / Sports Time (prepare the finals.) Day 14 Great Wall trip (with the other countries students together) Day 15 Tea house for tea culture presentation and tasting Week 3 Day 16 Chinese class / Free afternoon Day 17 Chinese class / Finals 3rd International Ping Pong Competition [All the students come to the championship.] / Depart for Xi An (overnight train) Day 18 Arrive in Xi An / put things at hostel / Visit old Xi An / Visit the Wild Goose Pagoda / Go back to check in at the hostel / Traditional style Shanxi dinner. Day 19 Visit the ancient Terracotta Warriors / Dinner in the Muslim Quarter of Xi An / Leave for Beijing (over night train) Day 20 Arrive in Beijing in the morning / Free time Day 21 Shopping at different Beijing markets / Farewell Dinner with host families. Day 22 Airport drop-off / Return home Note: * the ping pong tournaments are optional * Minimum student age is 13 It's very important that we keep China Study Link's programs consistently excellent!
