The School of Chinese Language (Zhong Wen Xue Xiao) was inaugurated by His Excellency, Mr Mao Siwei, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Kolkata on 16th July, 2008. The 1st Anniversary was celebrated on July 16, 2009 by all its Teachers, Students and the Consulate General of China. The following Courses are currently offered: A. Express (Sucheng Kecheng) - 35 Sessions of 2 hours each, about 4 months - very basic, limited and frequently used vocabulary/sentences, mainly conversational B. Intensive (Qianghua Kecheng) 104 Sessions of 2 hours each X 3 Semesters - comprehensive teaching with stress on phonetics, grammar, stroke orders and character writing, reading and speaking. A dedicated Intensive Course student would be fully conversant with Mandarin within 3 Semesters, achieving a certain level of proficiency after each completed Semester. C. Express-Business (Sucheng Shangwu Kecheng) 45 Sessions of 2 hours each, about 5 months business-oriented, very basic, limited and frequently used vocabulary/sentences, mainly conversational Classes are held at Sunny Park in Ballygunge, in airconditioned comfort. Audio-video aids and authentic assistance by native Chinese teachers is provided, together with study material. Stress is laid on correct phonetics. The School offers individual attention with a Teacher:Student ratio of 1:15. After successful completion of the relevant Course, The School issues its Certificate. The current fee is Rs. 200 per Session of two hours (non-refundable). The Course Fee includes study material, Interactive Sessions with Chinese Consulate and others and Chini Adda; it is payable in advance in scheduled instalment/s. Admission to Class of July09 already closed but shall open for next Class soon& An Admission Fee of Rs. 250 is applicable for each of the Courses.
