IMAC Spanish Language Programs in Chile: Santiago
Chile
Term: Throughout the year
Description:
The School in Chile is located in the neighborhood of Providencia, a combination of modern, high-rise buildings and quiet, tree-lined residential streets. It is just a few blocks from the main avenue 11 de Septiembre, where you will find many sidewalk cafes, plenty of shopping opportunities, as well as the metro stop "Los Leones." Just a five-minute walk from the school is one of the city's most popular night spots, Suecia, where there are some 50 restaurants and nightclubs located within a five-square-block area. Our Partner School in Chile offers our students clean, modern and comfortable facilities. The three-story school building has 17 classrooms with TVs and DVD players, central heat and air-conditioning, computers with free Internet and an outdoor terrace where you can study, socialize, or just relax. You'll find our center staff welcoming and professional, and always ready to help you with whatever you may need during your time with us. As a pioneer in language immersion, our Partner School in Chile offers a practical, proven and communicative approach that will have you speaking Spanish from the very first day. Our professional teachers are qualified, dedicated, enthusiastic, and know how to make classes fun and effective. We offer a rich program of activities, excursions, and special courses that allow you to make the most of your time in Chile.
Highlights:
Santiago is divided into 32 districts or "comunas", each one run by its own town council. The central offices of banks and main government buildings are located in downtown Santiago. Commerce is gradually heading towards the east side of the city, to the districts of Providencia, Las Condes and Vitacura. Most hotels, commercial, banking and entertainment areas are located in these districts. The industrial area of Santiago is found in the districts of Quilicura, Huechuraba and Pudahuel to the north and northwest of the city. The south and west districts of Santiago are predominately residential. At the heart of it all is the nation's capital, Santiago. Nestled in a valley at the foot of the picturesque Andes, the bustling metropolis is an interesting blend of contrasts: colonial architecture and modern skyscrapers, lively street scenes and quiet parks, elegant shopping and local street markets. In Santiago, you will find the charm and culture of Latin America with all the amenities of the first world. The city is clean, safe and efficient, and its six million residents are very friendly and hospitable to foreigners.
