Who are we?

The Centre for Polish Studies is a school of Polish language organising courses in Warsaw, Sopot and Cracow. We are a private institution, established by experienced tutors of Polish as a foreign language. We only employ qualified teachers who hold certification to teach Polish as a foreign language.

What do we do?

Our mission is to help foreigners get to know not only Polish, but also Poland: we believe that language, although it is key to understanding a country and its people, is not enough therefore, we also teach our students culture, economy and history of Poland.

Our teaching methods take all facets of language learning into consideration: reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension. The teaching materials that we use include excerpts from the most recent publications as well as our own handouts. We use modern teaching methods, such as drama and language games, conversation, audio and video materials. We use the most contemporary textbooks and materials, according to the level and needs of the students. We place emphasis on all aspects of the language: speaking and comprehension, reading and writing,

* One-Year Intensive Polish Language Course for Candidates Planning to Study at Polish Universities*

The course is designed for those who want to study at Polish universities, who need to develop their language skills in order to participate in lectures and other classes. During the course students will develop the following language skills: reading, writing, speaking and comprehension.

The course includes:
- communication exercises
- grammar classes
- classes based on specific topics, including professional vocabulary
- working with text
- creating own texts

In addition to regular classes, students may participate in afternoon, evening or weekend activities organized by school. Once a week there will be organised trips to museums, galleries, cinemas, theatres and popular places in Warsaw.
Tours are optional, and students will be asked to cover the price of tickets.

Duration: 10 months
Beginning: 2010 September 6th   

Number of classes during the entire course:
1000 (one class is 45 minutes)

Schedule:
5 days a week, 6 lessons a day
30 lessons per week

Price:
Registration fee (deposit): 1000 PLN
Price for the entire course: 12 400 PLN

The price includes:
- Polish language classes provided by the experienced lecturers
- thematic classes broadening vocabulary of the selected areas, such as medicine, history,    mathematics, art
- organizing afternoon trips
- a document certifying the participation in the course

Accommodation:
We can help you to find accommodation in Warsaw students' dormitories or private apartments. Accommodation, food, insurance and other expenses associated with the stay in Poland must be paid by the student.

85 PLN per 60 minutes

*Regular Group Course*

Lessons take place twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays (2x45 minute each day). Classes would start at 18.00 and finishes at 19.30

Fees (per person per 90 minutes):
2 students - 70 PLN
3,4 students - 50 PLN
5-10 students - 46 PLN

*Intensive group courses*

These regular intensive group courses are for those who would like to spend more time learning Polish. In the afternoon and during weekends we organise special programme for our students. See Afternoon & Weekend Programme.

Courses are organised on all levels: A0, A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2 (see levels). Classes are provided from Monday to Friday except for public holidays.
