Learn Spanish in Cartagena

  Colombia
    Cartagena (Cartagena de Indias)

Dates: Start any Monday

Description: Learning Spanish abroad in Cartagena, Colombia is one of many language immersion programs offered by AmeriSpan. Colombia's extreme geographical diversity, strong historical ties, and its peoples' affinity for partying make it an ideal destination for adventurers, history buffs, and nature lovers alike. Its native indigenous presence combined with its Colonial architecture and it's wealth of archeological sites make Colombia a historical explorer's paradise.

If you just want to let loose and enjoy the beautiful weather, Colombia certainly abides. Dancing is practically a national pastime and having a good time is taken very seriously. Colombia has been experiencing recent positive economic growth and stability and has worked hard to re-established itself as a leader in the South American tourism market.

Learn Spanish Language in Colombia:
Cartagena is Colombia's most visited city and it is easy to see why. Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, this colonial city has managed to retain the charm, architecture, and romance of its past. The ramparts and city walls that once protected Cartagena, are still standing today. Inside these walls, the vibrant, colorful, and eclectic mixture of Caribbean, African, & Spanish influences can still been seen, tasted, and heard.

Spanish School Facilities:
The school in Cartagena is located in the Getsemani neighborhood, a few blocks from the main entrance to the "Old City." Classes take place in a colonial house with a Caribbean atmosphere next to Trinidad Square, the place where Cartagena's battle for independence began. The house has a cafeteria and a garden inside. Internet service is also available there. Capacity is 48 students/day.

AmeriSpan Study Abroad's Mission Statement: Our mantra is "Every Language, Every Culture, Everywhere." AmeriSpan Study Abroad has over 15 years experience and over 30,000 past participants. Our staff has three passions: language, culture, and travel. Individually and as a group, we have accumulated experiences and knowledge related to these passions. AmeriSpan's staff has traveled to more than 65 countries, every continent except Antarctica, speak 10 languages, and we are happy to share this enormous amount of relevant knowledge with you. Every staff member has studied and/or lived abroad for extended periods of time. We are neither a language school nor a travel agent, we're a hybrid of the two: a language travel organization. AmeriSpan has evaluated hundreds of schools, host families and destinations to determine which programs to offer, and our independence allows us to give you unbiased evaluations of these programs. Our pledge to our participants is to make going abroad 'worry-free'. There is no risk in choosing an AmeriSpan program because you'll get the best program, best price and can cancel for any reason and get a full refund on every dollar we have received for your program.
