Learn Polish in Krakow

  Poland
    Krakow

Dates: Start any Monday

Description: Learning Polish abroad in Krakow, Poland is one of many language immersion programs offered by AmeriSpan. Located in the heart of Europe, Poland has a radically different look about it these days, having exchanged the grayish tinge of a state-regulated society for the anything-goes attitude of a private enterprise. Polish people have vigorously maintained a distinct sense of culture and community despite the trend towards a more modern life. Also, Polish hospitality is legendary, and there's a natural progression from a chance meeting to an introduction to the extended family. A diverse range of activities is available for all to enjoy such as basking in the sun on the beautiful Baltic coastal beaches, camping and hiking on the rocky mountain peaks, and soaking up Polish culture in one of the many historical institutes or breathtaking cathedrals.

Learn Polish Language in Poland:
This ancient capital of Poland, Krakow, was the only major city in the country to have come out of World War II virtually undamaged. This magical city, on the banks of the Wisla River, has one of the best-preserved medieval city centers in Europe. Krakow contains dozens of churches covering almost every architectural period and is surrounded by monasteries and abbeys. In terms of tourism, Krakow has emerged as a rival to Prague and is thought to be a jewel of Central/Eastern Europe. Due to the increasing numbers of visitors, the city center has more cafes, pubs, and ethnic restaurants opening which only adds to Krakow's already thriving nightlife. The student population of the city numbers over 180,000 and their presence gives Krakow a refreshing youthful feel.

Polish School Facilities:
Downtown in the historic part of the city, Stare Miasto. Only a ten-minute walk to Main Market, Europe's biggest square and the city's true historic heart. The square contains an endless sea of cafes and pubs, and is popular amongst both tourists and locals. Classes take place in a newly refurbished historical building, housing eight modern classrooms with audio and video capabilities. There is also a small library and a computer room with Internet access. Capacity is 200 students/day.
