Academic English Program and University Placement!
United States
Description:
The BridgeEnglish Academic English Program (AEP) prepares undergraduate and graduate students for successful university study in the United States. The BridgeEnglish Academic English Program (AEP) offers the following: Placement Testing The first step to assuring successful learning is to place new students at the best level for their current skills, ranging from Level 1 (high beginner) to Level 5 (advanced). To do this, the AEP program uses an integrated three-part process: 1) The University of Michigan Placement Test (UMPT) for listening, reading, vocabulary and grammar assessments; 2) The Bridge Test of Spoken English (TSE) for speaking assessments, and 3) The Bridge Test of Written English (TWE) for writing assessments. By using all three sources, BridgeEnglish gains an excellent overview of new students' skill levels and their ability to work effectively in the AEP. Academic Classes Once placed in the best level, students study English that is focused on achieving academic success at American colleges and universities. Our courses include Academic Reading & Vocabulary, Academic Writing & Grammar, Academic Speaking & Listening, as well as additional studies in Pronunciation, General Study Skills and Exam Preparation, including the GRE and TOEFL exams. University Placement As students progress through the AEP, we provide assistance with researching schools, making information requests, completing applications, writing cover letters, and all other steps required to place students in a range of colleges and universities across the country. There is a fee for this optional service; please see the price list below.
