Description: Located on the edge of Lake Geneva in French speaking Switzerland, Montreux has a mild climate that gives it a Mediterranean feel and has earned it the nickname "Pearl of the Swiss Riviera". No matter where you turn you are surrounded by breathtaking views of the mountains behind the city and the great lake in front. The city offers a wide choice of sporting and cultural activities the most well-known of which are the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Christmas market. And the surrounding area provides glimpses into Switzerland's romantic past with stately castles and small mountain towns.

The Montreux course centre is located in the centre of the city, a stone's throw from the main train station, numerous shops and restaurants and a 5 minute walk from the lake. This modern and welcoming centre has spacious, bright classrooms, a common room with free internet access, a cafeteria and a gymnasium for student use. It also offers a library and self-study space.

The school is well equipped with bright and modern classrooms as well as a library, self-study room and computer lab offering free-internet access. There is also an indoor cafeteria, a common room for games as well as a tearoom restaurant.

The aim of the Montreux Homestay Program for Teens is to develop your interest in learning French and to awaken any dormant knowledge you may already have. To achieve this goal, the atmosphere at the course centre and in the classroom is youthful and dynamic, with subjects and teaching methods that are age-appropriate and truly motivating. Particular emphasis is put on developing communication fluency and self-confidence. Please see the sample schedule for more information.

You may also choose to further your experience in Montreux with a choice between two optional courses, either one on one private lessons, or conversational lessons. Please see the prices page for fees.

Private lessons comprise of an additional five 45 minute lessons per week. The lessons are based on your individual needs and goals. With the aid of a detailed questionnaire completed at the start of the course, instructors will modify the lessons to address your specific needs with the French language.

Conversational courses give students the opportunity to express themselves in a more fluent and confident natural manner within everyday situations. This course consists of two 45 minute lessons per week.

Optional Sports:

With its location close to Lake Geneva, Montreux is the perfect setting for water sports! If sailing is your passion, you can enroll in the 'Sailing Package'. The package includes three afternoons per week of sailing lessons taught by professionals. Whether a complete beginner or an experienced sailor you will enjoy your afternoons spent on Lake Geneva! Teachers:

The teaching staff are fully-qualified young and dynamic native speakers. They set out to create a relaxed, amusing and motivating atmosphere with lesson themes that you can relate to.
