Ewha International Summer College
South Korea
Term: Summer
Description:
Astounding for its diverse and intuitive academic programs, Ewha is the place to be for future global leaders. Its 123 years of tradition as the pioneer of education culminated in KCUE (Korea Council for University Education)'s confirmation that it is the top institute of higher learning in the country. In year 1995 and 2005, Ewha ranked number 1 in "University Ranking" released by the National Korean Council for University Education. Four decades have passed since the first-ever international summer program started by a Korean institution - Ewha in year 1971. The first International Summer Program in Korea in 1971 was attended by seven foreign students and one Ewha student. After nearly four decades, the magnitude of the program and variety of students have exceeded to another level. The 1971 Summer School program became an incubator for the 1st Joint Summer Curriculum between Ewha and the University of Kansas, 'Kansas at Ewha Program.' The cumulative know-how and continuous devotion by the Summer Committee members have remained the same for 4 decades and made Ewha's Summer Program what it is today. The balanced proportion of Ewha summer program participants -foreigners, expats, and Ewha students- enables a steady and proportioned combination of networking possible for all of the summer participants. With unrivaled diverse academic excellence, nested in the heart of Shinchon - the heart of the most vibrant university town in Korea - neighboring with major universities such as Yonsei, Sogang and Hongik - it is the place to be to experience authentic Korean college life.
