Description:
The Spanish program includes intensive courses of 80 hours focused in functional Spanish. Advanced students could take superior courses as Business Spanish, Oral Techniques. The program also included courses of Spanish for Specific Purposes, specifically, Spanish for health professionals. Elective courses in Environment, Business and Culture can be taken taught in English for 48 or 60 hours. Environmental Sciences courses have fieldtrips. Advanced Spanish students could access elective courses taught in Spanish as Latin American Literature and Advanced composition. They can also participate in the Intercultural Exchange taking Art, Design and Architecture courses with Costa Rican Students. The short term programs are focused in a specific area, generally, environmental sciences. The theory is taught on line for two weeks and then students arrive to Costa Rica, for two weeks more, for the fieldtrips. Advanced students have the opportunity to intern in Costa Rican companies in several fields as Law, Architecture, Design, Education, Social Work and International Business. Courses and degrees awarded by Universidad Veritas have been transferred to universities around the world. This includes credits or ECTS earned by study abroad students at the Center for International Programs.

1. Accredited University: We are fully accredited by the Ministry of Education code No 060-94-CONESUP as a degree granting university. 2. University Credits: With Universidad Veritas you can earn university credits or ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) transferable to your home university. 3. Homestay: We provide our students accommodation with local families (certified and investigated by Universidad Veritas) close to the university or if the student prefers we can help to find apartments. 4. Programs and Professors: All our professors have a masters degree and the programs are reviewed every year so they to adapt any methodological or evaluation changes for high academic quality. 5. Total immersion: Universidad Veritas provides international students the opportunity to get involved in the Costa Rican environment and in daily activities with regular students. 6. Wireless Internet Access: Students have wireless internet in all campus areas, also they can use the internet laboratories any time. 7. International Students: We provide an intercultural environment with students from United States, Europe, Central and South America. 8. Fieldtrips and excursions: A lot of elective courses have mandatory fieldtrips to provide a unique experience for students. Also we have our travel agency that offers additional excursions on weekends.

Universidad Veritas's Mission Statement: Universidad Veritas is a private Art, Design and Architecture University in San Jose, Costa Rica. Veritas has many international academic agreements with universities and educational agencies and hosts over 500 foreign students per year. Our study abroad program is over 15 years old. Universidad Veritas offers a variety of possibilities for Study Abroad students.
