Description:
Our unique "Travelling Classroom" program is perfect for studying the Spanish language in Ecuador and for discovering the natural wonders of this beautiful country. Departing from the school in Quito, students travel with experienced and qualified teachers who also act as guides on the daily excursions. Since its inception in 1998, this program has won great acceptance with our students who feel more comfortable exploring the country with a knowledgeable and trusted guide at their side while learning Spanish. The travelling classroom option offers itineraries of 1-2 weeks. Each day students will receive 4 hours of classes combined with hours spent enjoying a variety of activities (biking, hiking, bathing in waterfalls and hot baths, visiting markets, etc.) and travelling from place to place on public transport. Popular itineraries combine the attractions of the Sierra (Andean highlands), thermal baths, Papallacta and the Oriente (Amazon rainforest). All practical details (e.g. hostel bookings, timetables, etc.) are taken care of by the teacher allowing the students to fully enjoy the sights and of course to get in the odd hour of study. The day before departure, students and teachers meet at the school in Quito to acquaint themselves and to go over the trip plans. For the active tourist this program is a must, packed with fun, adventure and of course lots of time to practice Spanish with your teacher and guide.
Highlights:
We have five options for you to chose from: 1. Basico (1 week): for the traveller with less time this is a great way to see a part of the highlands and the lush green of the Amazon. Highlights include mountain biking (Baños), jungle treks (Misahualli) and bathing in thermal springs (Papallacta) (map of Basico program). Medium activity level. Write us to ask about Prices 2. Basico (2 week): this option allows the student more time in each of the locations, allowing more opportunities to explore and enjoy the attractions of each site including some impressive caves at Jumandy in the jungle (map of Basico program). Medium activity level. Write us to ask about Prices 3. Sierra (2 week): this is a great program for seeing the attractions of the Sierra. Highlights include trekking around Cotopaxi National Park, visiting the wondrous Laguna Quilatoa, the breathtaking train ride down the Devils Nose and the pre-Incan ruins at Ingapirca. Just a few of the exciting activity options during this 12 day program (map of Sierra program). Strenuous activity level. Write us to ask about Prices 4. Delux (2 week): Delux because you get to wind down and enjoy the sites at a comfortable pace, from a train ride to Alausi down into the jungle to relax on river beaches. You will have time to soak in hot springs in both Baños and Papallacta and to relax with the bird songs of the jungle; nice and "tranquilo". (map of Delux program). Medium activity level. Over the years we have developed and refined a very effective methodology for teaching Spanish to foreigners, which caters to the needs of beginner level through advanced level students. Our teaching methods and standards are applied uniformly across all six of our locations. Our teaching is based on a rigorous structure of 10 modules (levels), which cover all the core elements of Spanish grammar. With the aim of ensuring that each student acquires a balanced set of Spanish skills, our teaching combines written and oral grammar exercises, listening exercises and conversation.
