Description:
Brush up on your Spanish while staying with a local host family and volunteering at an orphanage or helping medical professionals. Start off with intensive Spanish classes lasting either one or two weeks, then begin your volunteer work; learn salsa and the art of Peruvian cooking by night. These are just a few examples of what a United Planet Quest may entail.
Highlights:
United Planet offers four different countries in Central and South America for short-term volunteer opportunities with Spanish language immersion classes. Volunteers can choose to add either a one or two week intensive Spanish immersion to the beginning of their Quest. Volunteers take between 15 and 30 hours of Spanish classes per week, and after their classes are completed they begin their volunteer work. Projects are from 1-12 weeks and range from teaching to healthcare, orphanage work and women's empowerment. Program fee includes meals, lodging, training, in-country orientation and insurance.
