Description:
There are 5 semesters per year: 1. September - November 2. December - February 3. March - May 4. June - August 5. June and July short summer intensive program If you wish to apply for one of the semesters please do so at least 30 days before the semester starts. We have different levels available for each and every semester. For us to assess your level we may need to evaluate that by doing a short oral and/or written test. You may contact us for more information as this involves personal attention as each applicants case is unique. Classes are 2 hours per day Monday to Friday. There is also a certain amount of exercise time to be completed online which can be done at home. Many of the students at providence also teach English part time or full time, therefore class times are at various times that our students teaching times. for example we have a popular time of 12h00 - 14h00 daily as this is when many of the language schools take a break for lunch. There is an ESL notice board at our center for students who wish to find part or full time teaching boards directly with kindergartens of language schools. We do not get involved in this however we provide the information for students to access it if they need it.
Highlights:
Focus on speaking ability, our goal is to get students speaking as soon as possible and to give them the confidence to speak which creates more opportunity for them to learn faster. Practice makes perfect. Medical insurance is available - please ask reception. Resident visa is available through our university for students who wish to stay for long in Taiwan. Visa extension is available using our university paperwork to extend locally without having to leave Taiwan.

Providence University - Mandarin Campus's Mission Statement: Besides Chinese Teachers university degrees attained in Chinese history, language and foreign languages we have an additional course which they complete called TCSL (Teaching Chinese as a Second Language) before they can actually start teaching. This helps teachers lead students of Mandarin to build more confidence allowing all nationalities and backgrounds to be able to quickly speak the Mandarin Chinese Language.
