Switzerland became a nation-state in 1291. The democratic principles in effect at the time still form the base of political life today. German was the official language of the 3 original cantons (federal states). Nowadays, in addition to German, 18% of the population speak French, 10% speak Italian and 1% Rumansch (a language derived from Latin). Switzerland is an enchanting country with magnificent mountains, alpine pastures, peaceful lakes and medieval towns and cities.

Highlights: We have language schools in three destinations:

Montreux

Our school is situated in the heart of town, only a stone's throw from the lake, the shops, bars and restaurants. Richly coloured and bordered by palm trees, the quays reveal their secrets along the walk from the Auditorium to the Château de Chillon, where you will find small bays ideal for sunbathing, picnicking or partying, and beautiful gardens, lively terraces and international restaurants. A first-class cultural calendar also helps make Montreux the ideal environment for studying French in a magnificent region.

Lausanne

Our partner school is situated in the famous Flon district at the heart of Lausanne and is just as easily reached on foot as by public transport. The language school building has 10 modern and very well-equipped classrooms, a multimedia centre with free Internet access and a relaxation area for students. On the ground floor, you will have access to a cafeteria. a bank and several shops. The school itself occupies the 2nd and 3rd floors of a building which also houses the most important private adult training institute in Switzerland. It will be easy for you to combine your French classes with a course given by the institute where you will be able to mix with inhabitants of the region.

Home Language International

Live and study in your teacher's home and learn the language of your choice in the country of your choice. Are you someone who sat alone at the back of the class and never found yourself in realistic conditions for mastering a foreign language? Shyness? Lack of motivation? Specific individual needs? Or simply too little time available? We've got the solution! Our partner Home Language International offers teaching of unrivalled quality which is a result of the effectiveness of its method: offering the student total immersion in the teacher's home and focusing one-to-one lessons directly on the student's specific needs. This method applies to everyone, there is no age limit for our participants! You have a choice between 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours of one-to-one lessons per week.
