Description:
During harvesting time the Tuscan countryside is especially picturesque with labourers busy amidst the vines, colours heralding the arrival of autumn and the smell of fermenting musts. A wonderful time to stay on a farm in the Chianti hills and learn Italian. Terre di Baccio is a farm, but also a place dedicated to making its guests feel truly welcome. Refined, original furnishings, carefully chosen ingredients and skilful preparation of the breakfasts and meals are accompanied by a limited production of quality wines and oil. Program Itinerary: Sunday, arrival and accommodation in double and single rooms at the Terre di Baccio in Greve in Chianti. Meeting with the teacher, introduction to the programme and Tuscan supper with the wines produced on the farm. Language course in the morning from 9.00 to 1.00, Monday to Friday. Light lunch. Grape-picking from 2 to 7, Monday to Friday, with a wine expert explaining how the vines are grown, describing the processes conducted in the cellars and the main characteristics of Tuscan wines. Grape-picking may be done either at Terre di Baccio or at other farms in the Greve area. In the evening, participants all dine together with a different, characteristic menu each night and with the teacher, who will talk about Tuscan cooking and present the basic concepts involved in a sensorial analysis of wines. Saturday morning: departure. In Depth: The Italian language lesson is held by a teacher from Koinè Center, she is also a wine expert and she will assist you during the grape harvest and dinner. Duration: 1 week, 6 nights. The course can be organised on other dates for small private groups of at least 4 people. The price includes harvest, Italian language lessons, accommodation in double or single rooms with bathroom. breakfast, light lunch and supper of Tuscan foods and Chianti wines. The supplement for the single room is Euro 60.
