Learn the language and in the meantime discover a new profession: il Pizzaiolo, the Pizza maker. In the ancient Florence town center, among the most famous monuments, you can take part in the Italian language lessons offered in the Koinè Center together with a professional Pizza course. Program Itinerary: 4 weeks program, 7 hours per day. Italian language lesson from 9 to 13, Pizza course from 15 to 18, from Monday to Friday, for a total of 80 hours Italian language and 60 hours Pizza course. Locations: Koinè Center and Pizzeria il Gatto e la Volpe in Florence. The pizza course is managed by the Pizzaiolo of Restaurant Pizzeria Il Gatto e La Volpe, nearby one of the main monuments in Florence Il Bargello. In Depth: Theory Short introduction to the history of the Pizza, Chemical processes in dough mixture and relevant techniques, Ingredients and their properties: flour, baking powder, water, salt, oil, sugars and condiments. Professional equipments and their characteristics, Preservation and conservation of the ingredients, Introduction to Basic hygiene. Practice Dough mix preparation, Dough closing and preservation, Dough opening by hand, Oven- setting pizzas and baking, Use of the oven, dough mixer and other equipment. Examination and certification: Production of three different pizzas, Tasting by a pizza expert, Commencement exercises. Internship and training in a Florentine pizzeria, Possibility i.e. for 2 months, 7 hours per day, from 17 to 24, from Tuesday to Sunday, Monday free, for a total of 336 hours. Accommodation, in students apartments, single or double rooms with bathroom and use of the kitchen. Studying visa. Koinè school is recognised by the Education Ministry and our certificate for the students registration can be useful to obtain the studying visa from the Italian Consulate.
