Description: This Spanish language immersion program takes place in Playa Flamingo (Flamingo Beach), located in the beautiful province of Guanacaste on the Pacific coast in Costa Rica - a perfect place for people who do not want to study in a large town or city. Playa Flamingo offers visitors the chance to enjoy one of the nicest white sand beach areas found anywhere in Costa Rica. Close to Playa Flamingo are two excellent rain forest reserves, and within a few hours you have access to numerous other national parks and reserves, and the impressive Arenal Volcano. It also offers a wide range of outdoor activities and water sports.

We offer three programs in our catalog: General Spanish Courses consisting of 20 lessons per week and focusing mostly on grammar and conversation; Intensive Spanish Courses consisting of 30 lessons per week; and One-on-One classes whose aim is to offer a personalized method of teaching which is tailor made for the specific needs of the student (20 private lessons a week).

Highlights: A wide variety of extra-curricular activities are offered to all students including two half-day excursions, accompanied by a tour guide, organized per week. Examples are a boat safari on Río Corobici, horseback riding in a private reserve, visit to Guaitil: a local artisan community, visits to beaches further away, during turtle season trip to Playa Grande to see turtles lay their eggs). Weekend trips most common destinations: Arenal Volcano, Rincon de la Vieja Volcano (& boat safari), Monteverde, Palo Verde, Santa Rosa...

Accommodation is in host families, allowing participants to see and learn everything about the Costa Rican lifestyle with first hand experience of the culture and traditions. Host families have been carefully chosen for this purpose and to ensure that students have a pleasant stay in Costa Rica. Students are treated as family members.
