Summer, Semester, or Academic year in Florence!
Italy
Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring, Summer
Description:
Spend an academic year, semester, or summer exploring the language, people, art, and of course the food of Tuscany while studying in its capital city, Florence. Students studying through ELI in Florence will have the opportunity to take Liberal Arts, Italian Language, Art History and Studio Art classes. The school has professional photography, printmaking, paper making, bookbinding, and graphic studio space in addition to an art gallery that hosts world-renowned exhibits. ELI is a 501(c)3 non-profit that strives to provide high quality programs while keeping costs low. ELI will provide you with the support you need prior to your departure, while you are abroad, and once you return. We will make sure you have all of the tools you need to make your study abroad experience as seamless as possible.
Highlights:
Once students arrive in Florence they will participate in an in-depth orientation that will cover everything they needed to know to get acquainted with their new home city, school, and the Italian culture. Students live in traditional Florentine apartments within walking distance to the school and famous landmarks such as the Duomo and Baptistry. Classes are taught in English by instructors from Italy and the rest of the world. Most classes meet twice a week and combine in class lectures with field research or time in a studio. The school has a great community feel and students often feel as though they are part of a big family. On the weekends students will have time to explore the surrounding Tuscany region, the rest of Italy and Europe!
